Flame at Last

The peace and tranquility of Bracklesham Bay will be a far cry from London this summer as millions descend on the capital for the Olympics.

However West Sussex will be gripped by the spirit of the Games on 16th July, when the Olympic torch relay passes within a javelin throw of Bywaves' luxury lodges during its 70-day tour of the country.

It begins in Cornwall on 19th May and will see the torch carried through Chichester during the Portsmouth to Brighton leg on Day 58 - 12 days before the Games opening ceremony.

With its excellent road and rail links to London, Chichester and surrounding areas could prove to be an ideal base for Olympic visitors, including competitors. The University of Chichester, Goodwood Estate and Oaklands Park archery range have all been earmarked as potential training camp venues by London 2012 organisers.

And when it comes to gold medal standard lodges by the sea in West Sussex, Bywaves is certain to be a clear winner.
